Renewal House Ministries is a Christian Ministry providing empowering environments, life training, and realistic encouragement to help single, young mothers make strong starts for themselves and their children.
When a young, single woman finds herself unexpectedly expecting, lots of people seem to have opinions for her, but not enough people reach out to help. That's why we have founded Renewal House Ministries. The initial residence we will build is a home to help four young moms ages 14-21 and their children make strong starts.
Each family will have a mini-studio with a bedroom, a private washroom, and a study nook. House parents will have a studio apartment to assure the house is a safe environment throughout the day and night.
More residential than institutional, the parenting home will have the look and feel of a regular home - like the home a young mom would aspire to secure for herself and her child.
$200,000 for the purchase of 5 acres in a location central to Asheville and Hendersonville, NC.
$600,000 for the construction of this 7000+ sqft home, complete with ample living space, private mini-studios, house parent apartment, offices, laundry, training/craft room, and counseling rooms.
Until we have a house, we are serving young mothers and their children in a number of practical ways.
REAL LIFE TRAINING
Balancing checkbooks, finding insurance, locating an apartment, cooking a meal - these are all skills that the typical young mother may not have learned prior to their pregnancies.
Throughout the year experts will volunteer their time to offer life skills training in a classroom environment - with free childcare provided by qualified and screened caregivers.
MOM TO MOM
It's always helpful to have the support and encouragement of someone who has "been there." That's why we identify and train experienced moms who are willing to enter long-term committed mentoring relationships with younger moms.
Whether it's a listening ear, a bit of encouragement, or a timely reality check, these mentors give their best to bring out the best in their mom-in-
training.
SUPPLY SHARING
Generous families regularly share new and lightly used items for mothers and babies who need a little help. Volunteers clean, sort, and store these items until a young family has need of them.
In the past, Renewal House has provided clothes, beds, basinettes, blankets, and more to help young mothers have what they need to provide for them and their child - free of charge.

Mom to Mom Mentors
The woman who wants to make the biggest impact in the life of a teen mom needs to be a committed mentor. Great results require great investments of time, energy, and emotion. The most important teaching environment is one-on-one. The greatest challenge with mentoring is that so few people have experience with their own mentor. Thankfully we have training to help mentors check their readiness, assess their strengths, and clarify the commitment before jumping in prematurely.
Prayer Team
It has been said that prayer is the slender thread that moves the heart of God. A daytime and an evening prayer time will take place each month to lift up the plans of the Ministry and the lives we touch. Anyone can join in. You can also receive a monthly prayer guide for your personal devotion time. Simply email us from the About Us tab that you would be interested in participating and we will send the monthly prayer guide to you and share the prayer calendar with you too.
Childcare Workers
When young mothers come to life change classes it is important that they be able to focus. A person who enjoys helping a child play can make a huge difference in the life of a new mom as she is being trained for life.
Bloggers
We are looking for people who can contribute observations about parenting, funny stories, simple tips, and encourgement to young mothers through a blog designed specifically for them. We would welcome 5 to 10 writers.
Advocates
Everyone can share with their friends, family , coworkers, and neighbors about the way Renewal House wants to make a difference in the community. Whether you simply share a brochure with a friend, organize a benefit yard sale, or share with your pastor we welcome you to spread the word. If you need any paperwork or brochures simply let us know.
Board Members
We are currently looking to expand our Board of Directors with two or three additional members. At this time we would love to add the expertise of a financial professsional, a physician, and a person with strong business skills to lend their passion and expertise as we continue to move the Ministry forward.
